Purchases and Laurels
I bought something but it didn't arrive
Open the in-game Store and tap Restore Purchases at the bottom. Every purchase is delivered exactly once per transaction, so restoring never adds Laurels twice. One-time purchases (Starter Pack, Career Pass, Masters Career, scenarios) come back on every device signed in to the same Apple Account. If a purchase shows "waiting for approval" (Ask to Buy), it arrives as soon as it's approved.
Why did my first pack give double Laurels — and the second didn't?
The first Laurel pack bought on an Apple Account counts double. It's a one-time welcome bonus, not a timed offer, and it is shown on the Store tiles as ×2 until you use it.
Do I have to pay to enjoy the game?
No. A full career — from the first race to retirement at 40 and the Hall of Fame — is free, and modules, gear, posters and extra career slots can be unlocked with Laurels earned by playing (season goals, discoveries, achievements, finished careers). Laurel packs only make it faster. A few things are optional one-time purchases: the Starter Pack, the Career Pass, career scenarios and Masters Career. There are no subscriptions, timers, energy, ads or expiring offers.
My athlete turned 40 — do I have to pay to keep racing?
At 40 you can retire with a full legacy for free, or race one masters season free to try (once per account). To keep racing after that, unlock Masters Career or the Career Pass, or buy the Masters Circuit module with Laurels earned by playing. Careers that were already 40 or older when you first opened version 1.1 keep racing for free.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are made through the App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in and choose the purchase. If a refund is granted, the Laurels from that pack are removed from your balance, or the refunded one-time purchase is locked again.
Saves, iCloud and devices
How do I continue on another iPhone or iPad?
Turn on iCloud sync in the game's Settings on both devices, signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account. The change takes effect on the next launch. If both devices played the same career, the one that is further along wins.
The game said "Career restored" — what happened?
Your latest save couldn't be read (for example, after the device ran out of storage), so the game automatically restored the career from one of its weekly backup copies. You may need to replay a few weeks.
I deleted the app. Is my progress gone?
If iCloud sync was on, reinstall the app and turn iCloud sync on again — your careers come back. Without iCloud, saves live only on the device and are removed with the app. Laurel purchases can always be restored from the Store.
Game Center and achievements
My achievements don't show up in Game Center
Make sure you're signed in to Game Center (iOS Settings → Game Center). Achievements unlocked earlier are sent the next time you open the game while signed in. Achievement Laurels are credited in the game whether or not you use Game Center.
Playing
How do I change the language or units?
In the game's Settings you can switch between 15 languages, kilometres or miles, and Celsius or Fahrenheit. You can also change the app language in iOS Settings → Hidden Pace → Language.
Is Hidden Pace a training app?
No — it's a game. The simulation is calibrated against real-world records and training research, but its advice is part of the game, not medical or coaching guidance.
Does the game need an internet connection?
No. It plays fully offline. The internet is only used by Apple services you choose: the App Store, iCloud sync and Game Center.
