Privacy Policy

Version 1.1 · Effective with Hidden Pace 1.1 (October 2026)

This policy explains how Hidden Pace, the running career game for iPhone and iPad (the “app”), and this website handle information. Questions: hiddenpace.app@gmail.com.

1. What stays on your device

To play, the app stores the following locally on your iPhone or iPad:

• your careers (athletes, results, journal, trophies) and the shared game world, including up to three automatic weekly backup copies used to recover a save that can't be read;
• your Laurel balance and the list of purchases already delivered (App Store transaction identifiers, the number of Laurels each one added and which one-time purchases you own), so a purchase is never counted twice and owned content stays unlocked;
• settings such as language, distance and temperature units, haptics, reduced motion, the weekly reminder and tour progress.

The names of athletes, clubs and rivals are generated by the game or typed by you; they are never sent anywhere. This data never leaves your device unless you enable iCloud sync or share something yourself (see below).

2. iCloud sync (optional)

If you turn on iCloud sync in the game's Settings and are signed in to iCloud, your saves, Laurel balance and owned purchases are copied to your private iCloud database and iCloud key-value storage, so you can continue on another device. This data belongs to your Apple Account and is stored by Apple; the developer has no access to it. The game works fully without iCloud. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.

3. In-app purchases

Laurel packs and one-time purchases (Starter Pack, Career Pass, Masters Career, career scenarios) are sold through the App Store. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; we never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. The app receives only what StoreKit provides to deliver a purchase (the product and transaction identifiers), which it keeps on your device as described in section 1.

4. Game Center (optional)

If you are signed in to Game Center, the app reports unlocked achievements and achievement progress to Game Center. Game Center is an Apple service; your Game Center profile and friends are managed by Apple, and the developer does not receive them.

5. Notifications (optional)

You can turn on a weekly reminder in Settings. It is a local notification scheduled on your device; there is no push server and nothing is sent to us. You can turn it off in the game or in iOS Settings.

6. Sharing

Posters, share cards and the Legacy Book are created on your device. They leave it only when you tap Share and choose a destination in the iOS share sheet; what happens next is governed by the app or service you choose.

7. What we do not do

• No advertising, ad identifiers or tracking across apps and websites (the app does not use App Tracking Transparency because it doesn't track).
• No analytics, crash-reporting or attribution SDKs.
• No sale or sharing of data with anyone — there is no data to share.
• No access to your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone or health data.

8. Children

Hidden Pace is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

9. Deleting your data

• A career: in the game, Settings → Abandon career (also on the Athlete screen).
• Everything on a device: delete the app; its local data and backups are removed with it.
• iCloud copy: iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Storage (or Storage) → Hidden Pace → Delete Data.
• Game Center achievements: managed by Apple in your Game Center settings.

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on our side; we are still happy to answer any question by e-mail.

10. Support e-mails

If you write to us, we use your message and e-mail address only to answer you and delete the conversation when it's no longer needed. Please don't send passwords or payment details.

11. This website

This website (hiddenpace.github.io) is a static site without cookies, analytics or advertising pixels. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may log technical data such as visitors' IP addresses for security and reliability, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement. We don't receive or use these logs.

12. Changes

If the app ever starts handling data differently — for example, by adding a feature that needs a server — this policy and the App Store privacy label will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
